Select the files you actually need
After analysis, the verified-member panel shows only files eligible for export. Use its filename filter to find a path, then use the checkboxes to choose the required files. The filter changes what is visible, not what is selected. Select all and Select none apply to the full verified inventory; the selection count and byte total show the current set.
The panel displays fifty matching paths at a time so a large archive remains manageable. Download selected ZIP creates a new archive containing the selected verified bytes. No selected files means no export: the desk does not create an empty archive that could be mistaken for recovered data. Failed and unsupported members cannot be added to this selection.
Review renamed and excluded paths
ZIP filenames can contain duplicate paths, case-only differences or file-versus-folder conflicts. Extraction behavior differs across operating systems, and silently overwriting a file would hide useful data. This desk assigns a collision-free recovered path when possible and records both the source path and the output path. The bytes are unchanged by that rename.
Unsafe paths are excluded. Examples include parent traversal, absolute paths, backslashes, control characters, reserved device names and filenames that are not portable under the stated rules. Known symbolic-link entries are not exported. Without a central directory, link attributes may be unavailable; the output always writes ordinary file bytes and never creates a link or restores executable permissions.
Save the inventory with the archive
Download selection evidence while the checkboxes still represent the ZIP you intend to keep. The JSON records selected IDs, source-to-output names, lengths and SHA-256 fingerprints. The full inventory remains available as JSON and CSV. The CSV neutralizes spreadsheet-formula prefixes in text cells for safer review; the JSON preserves the original strings, and this spreadsheet protection does not modify recovered file content.
Treat the rebuilt archive as a new recovery artifact. Its fresh metadata is not a byte-for-byte replica of the original ZIP, even though each included member’s uncompressed bytes passed verification. Store the unchanged source and evidence beside it, then open important files in their normal applications. If an expected filename is missing, the report’s inspected count cannot establish that it never existed; an untrusted boundary or truncated input may have prevented that portion from being examined.
